Law student cried rape to cover up course failure

Former law student Aisha Mather cried rape because she was ashamed to tell her parents she had been kicked off her course. She has been jailed for two years.
Mather, 19, spent 'more time socialising than studying', Nottingham Crown Court heard, and was ordered to leave Nottingham Trent University after failing her first year exams.
She ripped her tights, overturned a coffee table and pulled down curtains at her lodgings in an attempt to convince police that she had been raped at knifepoint, believing that it would give her an excuse to go back to live with her parents in Stevenage, Herts, without telling them the real reason.
Mather kept up her story for eight days and police arrested a man who matched her description of a 'tattoed black rapist'. Three other men were questioned during the major investigation.
She admitted perverting the course of justice after police found a flaw in her account. See the full story at http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2006373/Female-law-student-jailed-making-rape-allegation-ashamed-failing-university.html.
